THE ROLE The Online Associate Director of Studies works alongside the Online Operations team to ensure the academic integrity of all online language programmes run at our online center. The Online Associate Director of Studies works to ensure consistent high-quality teaching and experiences for students attending online classes. This is accomplished by the careful management and development of an online teaching team through adherence to operational performance indicators such as production efficiency, staff and student retention and customer satisf****. General responsibilities for the Online Associate Director of Studies include online observations, provision of training, ensuring effective scheduling, ensuring the academic integrity of the online courses available, online classroom teaching when necessary and the continuing development of our online operations. QUALIFICATIONS Essential ?A recognized TEFL qualification ?A minimum of 4 years EFL teaching experience ?Current ST3 or higher? Experience providing feedback and SMART **** plans to others to improve their teaching?Experience teaching Online ?Computer literate (Proficient in MS Office Package) ?Evidence of committal to professional development & development of others ?Previous supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in a Yingfu school environment Preferable ?Higher level EFL teaching qualification ?Director of Studies at any level ?Experienced in teaching Yingfu courses online (High Flyers Trailblazers, etc) PERSONAL PROFILE ?Highly Motivated ?Driven, proactive and ambitious ?Strong inter-personal skills ?Flexible, able to work under pressure and adapt to change ?Detail-oriented & Solution driven ?Excellent ability to work cross-departmentally ?Strong communication skills ?Friendly, approachable, supportive and fair ?Committed to continuing professional development (self and staff) ?Professional and of smart appearance WORKING HOURS ?40 hours per week inclusive of online classroom teaching hours ?Online teaching up to 18 ACH during both peak and non-peak seasons ?5 days per week during non-peak and up to 6 days per week during peak seasons ?May occasionally require working above 40 hours per week JOB REPORT AND COMMUNICATION The Online Director of Studies reports has strong communication lines with: ? National Director of Academics?Online Progress Advisors (OPA) ?Online Operations Manager (OOM) ?Regional Academic Trainers ?International Payroll staff MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES A. Communication The Online Director of Studies is required to develop a full understanding of the needs of the different staff members working for Yingfu and have a strong awareness of customer requirements. Communication can be divided into the following levels: 1. Academic Team Level ?Organise efficient online scheduling and effectively communicate management decisions and company updates to online teachers as well as ensure that class cover needs are met. ?Maintain effective communication between online teachers and online operations staff ?Develop and maintain an effective professional relationship with members of the academic team 2. Online Level ?Meet regularly with the Online Operations Manager to exchange all relevant information ?Implement academic changes resulting from company developments and group decisions, in agreement with the Online Operations Manager ?Work closely with the Online Operations Manager and other Online Progress Advisors to ensure effective inter-departmental cooperation ?Pro-actively develop open channels of communication between academic team and other online teams ?Deal with staff (Teachers, CM, CL) concerns ****ly and effectively, communicating needs to other managers/departments as necessary ?Ensure all payroll documentation is submitted on time based upon the requirements from Payroll teams and policies B. Scheduling and Teacher Utility ?Liaise with the international online teachers to ensure current teaching availability is up-to-date, and ensure future availability is known ?Schedule the teachers the required number of academic classes in accordance with agreed hours ?Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the online centre's schedule in order to provide effective communication on class times, course management procedures, administrative and extra-curricular duties to all staff members in accordance with Yingfu Guidelines ?Substitute and arrange cover for classes in the best interest of the centre C. Academic Administration ?Become familiar with Yingfu company policies and procedures ?Coordinate and implement all new operational procedures in a timely manner, in cooperation with the Online Operations Manager ?Prepare the payroll and KPI bonus report for the academic team as required by Payroll teams ?Develop, maintain and enhance administrative systems in cooperation with the Regional Production Manager(s) ?Monitor and ensure the regular timely completion of any and all teacher course management administration tasks ?Complete and send any and all reports and required supporting documents to the Online Operations Manager D. External Support ?Assist external departments e.g. Yingfu EdTech or Customer Experience in the creation, testing and implementation of new Yingfu products and procedures. ?Proactively monitor the effectiveness of the Yingfu products and provide appropriate feedback through established channels E. Classroom Teaching ?Teach professional courses based on customer and online centre needs ?Provide lessons to the highest standards using a variety of motivating techniques ?Maintain awareness of new theories, approaches, and methodologies ?Seek to be a strong example of a reflective, constantly developing teacher.
